US Sailing First Sail Program

The best way to describe the First Sail Program is to let US Sailing tell you more about it. At the Lake Belton Yacht Club we charge $40 for adults and $25 for Veterans, Seniors over 65 and youth. The idea behind the first sail program is to give people an opportunity to learn a little about the sport and have a fun safe experience for their first trip. That way you can make an educated decision whether this is something you would like to continue.

Yacht Clubs around the country are taking part in this US Sailing First Sail program. LBYC participates in order to do our part to help grow the sport. Yacht Clubs are a great way to get started in sailing. Many clubs including LBYC have their own fleet of boats maintained for club use. This can be an inexpensive way to get started, and determine what your sailing goals are whether you want a calm evening sunset or Clipper Round the World Race. We would love to help any way we can.

So, to get started, Visit the US Sailing First Sail Program site at http://www.firstsail.org/. Once you learn more about the program you can find the LBYC Club link and sign up for a First Sail. You can also visit our First Sail Event Calendar for event dates and sign up instructions.
